Eric Whitehead – Internationally Known as DJ “Mr. E”

Eric Whitehead, better known on the international stage as DJ “Mr. E” grew up surrounded by the soulful sounds of R&B, first heard on his local AM radio station and his family’s classic 8-track player.

His passion for music grew while serving in the U.S. Army in Germany during the early 1980s, where he began collecting vinyl. By 1984, he had relocated to Washington, D.C., quickly making a name for himself at house parties, barbecues, cabarets, weddings, fashion shows, government functions, and music festivals.

From 1988 to 2007, DJ “Mr. E” held prime-time residency at two of Washington, D.C.’s most popular nightclubs. Beyond the booth, he established himself as an MC and show host, including hosting international beauty pageants broadcast on HBO. His career has taken him around the world, and to numerous major U.S. cities.

Special Events deserve a Specialist. Specializing in weddings, receptions, vow renewals, anniversaries, milestone birthday celebrations, family reunions, retirement parties and celebrations of life are just some of the events where DJ “Mr. E” has created lasting memories. 

DJ "Mr. E" has performed at more than 275 weddings alone, earning a reputation for unmatched attention to detail and personal service. His portfolio also includes over 100 corporate events. He also hosted The DJ “Mr. E” Show, one of the most vibrant smooth jazz radio shows ever aired.
